Social Media

Looking for my social media account(s)?

Sorry, but there really aren’t any.

I keep a private Facebook account for close family and friends (mainly for those who live far away from me). There’s an old Instagram account attached to it that is rarely (if ever) updated, and I refuse to join Twitter. I don’t have TikTok either, more due to the time I’d need to post the kind of content I’d want to go out to the public.

At best, their might be short videos I’ll post here and there on video sharing sites…but with no real social media plan behind them.

Why aren’t you on any social media platforms?

Short answer: no interest.

Long answer: I find that social media networks really aren’t that social at all for me, and I’m not a fan of the constant engagement that they breed (which can be extremely negative). Besides…I’d rather be drawing, or writing, or inking, or doing book prepress, or cooking, or cleaning, or working out, or even coloring my artwork (my least favorite part of the comic-making process) than sitting on a social media platform.

If you enjoy it, great! I simply don’t. As for being social, I’d much rather be face-to-face with people, enjoying the same room or outdoor area.

So how do you share your work with others?

Well…you’re looking at it! I post samples of my work here, as well as process pics and videos. While I have a YouTube account (and a Vimeo account), the primary point of access for my work online is this very site.

Are you sure you’re not just trying to avoid negative feedback?

No; if anything, I’m just trying to avoid a negative environment, which is what I find a lot of social media to be.

In fact, if you want to chat, tell me something I did was pretty sweet, or that something I posted sucks as far as you’re concerned, feel free to comment on the blog/video posts – or write me here if you don’t want your message posed publicly.
